About the collection

The insomnia drawings

My collection is based on ‘The insomnia drawings’ of Louise Bourgeois. She created drawings in a dreamlike state of consciousness filled with illusions that can occur between waking and sleeping.
My collection represents the brain that experiencing insomnia. It starts with the mathematical brain, which gradually begins to malfunction. Elements in the garments are missing and the proportions in the silhouette are shifting. The collection filled with illusions ends in a liminal zone between sleeping and waking. With a graphical print, consists of seven hand printed layers of fabric, combined with transparent caps, creates surreal visualizations.
