About the collection

With my collection “Emotional Hoarder” I want to show how we as human beings collect lifelong memories and emotions. Although we prefer to let go of things of our past, they will stay with us for the rest of our lives. One of my biggest inspirations are people called ‘hoarders’. These people have the urge to collect things, because they cannot let go of the emotional attachment to it.

By using the technique moulage with different pieces of clothing, I create my

language of silhouettes. The pieces of clothing will be used differently than they are supposed to be. It almost seems like they are hanging on the body. By showing this, I want to show the person who is in the process of hoarding. He wants to escape the disorder, but the pieces of clothing are clinging on to him.

All the pieces together become one entity. Just like the collection of our emotions form the “I”. This is why I chose to use one color for every silhouette. This way they will melt into one.
