The starting point of my collection is Suki — a character I created to give shape to my feelings pulled from two worlds: the cultural background I come from and the environment around me. She’s rebellious and manipulative — someone who craves adrenaline and freedom, and that’s where her love for motorcycles comes from. At first, Suki seemed tough and untouchable, but as I developed her, I found more of a vulnerable, nostalgic side. This side comes from her roots — from things she didn’t choose but that still shape her. She’s the daughter of Polish immigrants. Though she’s never lived in her family’s country, fragments of her heritage surface. She doesn’t fully understand them, but they’re part of her. Her strong bond with her grandmother and the old fabrics and objects in the house draws her closer to a culture both foreign and familiar. Suki lives between who she wants to be and what she unknowingly carries.
The collection explores the complexity of leaving one’s home country and building a new identity.
The things that used to be close to us are no longer, and that is only when we can start to appreciate them and adapt them to our new reality.
All looks in the collection, except one, are made from latex. Beyond traditional laser-engraved motifs, I pushed latex to its limits using unconventional techniques, transforming my roots into their extreme form. Every latex garment is hand-glued, and each jacket features four layers of material, creating a padded effect. The only piece I didn’t make is the helmet, found on Vinted — yet it became integral to the collection. Its shape and patterns inspired the flame motif throughout. Experimentation with motorcycle gear and patterns led me to blur the line between design and styling, where styling becomes an inseparable part of design.
