Filep Motwary is the author of THEOREM[A]: The Body, Emotion and Politics in Fashion published by Skira Editore in June 2018.  His first book, Haute-à-Porter (Lannoo 2016) examined the relationship between Haute Couture and Pret-a-Porter and was published on the occasion of his curatorial project presented at the Modemuseum of Hasselt from April to September 2016.

Since 2011, Motwary works as a photographer.

He is the Fashion Features Editor for Dapper Dan Magazine since 2010.

 

Overall, Motwary has interviewed more than 350 individuals from the fields of fashion and collaborates with print and online publications such as Metal Magazine, Boycott, Vogue, Harpers Bazaar..

From February to June 2018, he was a guest lecturer at the POLIMODA University in Florence, leading a series of workshops focusing on “Fashion Curation” and its applications.

From 2000 to 2009, he has been creating collections focusing on womenswear. Many of his costume creations belong to museum collections as well as to private institutions. As a costume designer he has exhibited his work in several museums and institutions including Le Musee D’Art Et D’Histoire De Saint Brieuc, Pompidou, Pallas, La Gaite Lyrique, Atopos, Benakis Museum, Modemuseum Hasselt, Centraal Museum Utrecht…[…]

From 29 April to 2 June 2018, the Zampelas Art Museum in Cyprus presented a monographic exhibition on Motwary, focusing on his photography and journalistic activities.

He is often invited to mentor young creatives at schools and universities as well as to participate as a jury member for various Fashion school competitions around the world.
