Jo Simpson is a freelance fashion stylist, model casting director and Curriculum Leader in Fashion & Textiles at Central Saint Martins, London, where she has taught for 14 years. 

As a stylist Jo works for music, editorial and advertising clients and provides consultation for brands including Lacoste, Fred Perry, Pringle of Scotland & Alice Made This. 

Jo has worked on various shows during London Fashion Week over the last 19 years including roles as head of backstage production and casting director for the following clients: Alexander McQueen, Preen by Thornton Bregazzi, Ann Sofie Back, Aquascutum, Ghost and Sophia Kokosalaki. 

Other fashion projects have included roles as the styling coordinator for the YSL 24 SHOWStudio film, Giorgio Armani’s Red project and Fashion Rocks.  

Jo is a leader in Knowledge Exchange working as a project manager for live projects between Central Saint Martins and her contacts in the fashion industry. Recent projects have included The Amy Winehouse Foundation X CSM X Fred Perry, Universal Studios X CSM, and collaborative projects with Marques Almeida, Preen, Hey Reilly and Wright Le Chapelain. 

Jo’s research looks at the hidden networked communities immersed in the catwalk show and how these creative practices coalesce.
