ABOUT THE COLLECTION

With the collection ‘Unzip my body, take my heart out’, I was inspired by the fact that people intend to use their clothes as a (fake) social mask. Somebody can become a character, purely by dressing as one.

For the collection, I’ve taken off the external peel that makes us nothing more than puppets, by showing the variety of layers that we use in the making of clothes (mainly couture).

That is why pieces of crinoline and corsets are visible, in contrast with the naked skin. The constructive character of the collection is also underlined by the use of different kinds of hardware in the embroideries.
