Monumentally Mine

In her graduation work Monumentally Mine Chiara Frenzel questions the value of objects as nostalgic entities, and explores the idea of cheap and kitsch being vessels of great emotional value. Using the language of souvenirs and monuments, she portrays monuments as intimately as ever before… The twinkle of the Eiffel Tower, the glamour of the Hollywood Sign, the Pisa which is steadily sliding off its axis. Over represented and misunderstood. Using the language of the familiar a love poem is written. All objects have the potential to be meaningful, and you mean the world to me.
